Geneva International Airport, commonly known as Geneva-Cointrin Airport, is an airport located in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland. It mainly serves Greater Geneva and more widely French-speaking Switzerland. The airport is located on the territories of the communes of Grand-Saconnex and Meyrin.
The second largest airport in Switzerland in terms of size and traffic, Geneva International Airport has operated national, European and international flights since 1919. Passenger traffic has been growing steadily since 2002, reaching 15 million in 2014.
On the surface, the airport occupies 24 000 m2 for freight including the treatment surface and cold rooms. Very accessible, it can be reached by the A1 motorway, the Swiss Federal Railways and has nearly 6,000 parking spaces spread over different areas.
The service offer is particularly attractive with a shopping area, several restaurants, financial and tourist services specific to each destination. The airlines serve no less than 113 cities and capitals around the world from this airport.
